I am a licensed attorney (Iowa & Florida) with over ten years of legal research and writing experience, graduated in the top 10% of my law school class, was Captain of Drake University Law School’s National Moot Court Team, and earned my MBA while completing law school. I've been self-employed as a Freelance Law Clerk since June 2009. Prior to June 2009, I practiced healthcare and corporate law for two years in Bradenton, Florida. I've worked on projects in a variety of practice areas, including: medical malpractice, personal injury, health care compliance, corporate transactional, ERISA, family law, bankruptcy, and general business litigation. I'm experienced at drafting complex legal documents, including pre-trial motions, supporting memoranda, discovery, client opinion letters, appellate briefs, and various transactional agreements. I’ve also had the pleasure of working for the legal and compliance departments at a major national Professional Employer Organization – my primary responsibilities in this role are to review the PEO’s contracts and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and to draft / negotiate contracts with the PEO's clients and for use in other business engagements. In particular, I was hired to overhaul the PEO's primary service agreement used with all clients - a project which required more than 50 hours to complete.
When I'm not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending my time with my husband, our dogs, and with friends and family. I'm a very active person who loves the outdoors, including competing in triathlons and road races, scuba diving, hiking, and cycling.
